Today we went to the sea,


gazed upon white caps, listened to

waves slap one upon another.


Sprays of foam kissed our cheeks. The great

undulating thing in grays

and blues.


"The ocean is vast"

I say to Buckley.

"the lake, I mean."


He's too busy plotting the takedown

of a fly to notice my

mistake.
